Camp Aguinaldo, Philippines (July 20, 2023) Rick Larson, in support of the Institute for Security Governance, attended the inaugural Philippine Security Sector Assistance Roadmap (P-SSAR) Action Officer Working Group (AOWG) from July 10-14, 2023. This workshop expanded on the agreements made during the 2+2 Ministerial Meeting between the Philippines’ Defense Senior Undersecretary and Foreign Affairs Secretary and the United States Secretaries of Defense and State in April of this year where both countries agreed to address the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) defense capability requirements and to enhance the interoperability with the U.S.
Throughout the conference, Rick Larson led discussions regarding Joint Fires, participated in cross-domain discussions focused on ensuring a holistic approach to Joint Integration and Multinational Interoperability, and mentored the AFP on their transition to secure and digital capabilities and operations.
